After laying dormant for a decade, the Silent Hill franchise is officially back and bigger than ever. In the wake of the success of Silent Hill F, Konami revealed that last year’s Silent Hill 2 Remake has now exceeded 2.5 million copies sold.
As reported by the publication Gematsu, developer Bloober Team and publisher Konami announced and confirmed that last year’s Silent Hill 2 Remake has officially surpassed 2.5 million shipments and digital sales.
For context, Silent Hill 2 Remake managed to sell more than 1 million copies just over a week into its launch last October. This figure then rose to 2 million by January of 2025, with Konami later revealing in May that the franchise had finally hit 10 million total sales – roughly 20% of which could be attributed to the remake.
While 2.5 million copies is huge for a franchise of its size, this figure is even more impressive when considering the fact that the remake was only released for the PC and PlayStation 5 (though there are rumours that an Xbox version is currently in the works).
Regardless, with Silent Hill 2 Remake selling 2.5 million copies in its first year, and the recently-released Silent Hill f already exceeding a million, it is safe to say that Silent Hill is officially back and bigger than ever.
