SEGA partners with LRG for $250 Sonic x Shadow Generations collector’s edition

Sonic x Shadow Generations is an enhanced remaster of the classic 2011 3D platformer, taking what was already great about that game, and adding a Bowser’s Fury-like side mode focusing on Shadow the Hedgehog. Ahead of the game’s 25th of October release, SEGA has announced a partnership with Limited Run Games to produce a $250 Collector’s Edition.

Making the announcement on Twitter the official Limited Run Games page said “Run through Sonic’s iconic history and experience a brand-new chapter from everyone’s favorite anti-hero, complete with this way-past-cool Collector’s Edition! Pre-order the Sonic X Shadow Generations Collector’s Edition TODAY”

Costing $250, the Collector’s Edition will ship the game to players separately at launch, with the remainder of the bundle’s items shipping around July of next year.

For $250, players will get their hands on:

  • The game
  • The Art of Sonic x Shadow Generations Art Book
  • Official Soundtrack
  • Sonic & Shadow Dreamcast Statue
  • Commemorative Dreamcast Jewel Case
  • SteelBook
  • 3 Chao Figurines
  • Sonic, Shadow, & Classic Sonic Shoes Keychain
  • Individually Numbered Certificate of Authenticity

While certainly a costly collector’s edition, the inclusion of a cool-looking Dreamcast statue and the Chao figurines could be enough of an incentive for fans of the original game.
