Boulies MagVida Standing Desk Review

Rating: 7.5.

Boulies is no stranger to a review here at KitGuru in recent years, but we've only ever looked at the company's chairs. That changes today as we assess the Magvida dual-motor electronic sit stand desk. It features what Boulies call the EMO system (Expandable Magnetic Organisation) which allows add-ons and attachments to be stuck to the underside of the desktop… But can a chair company make a decent desk?

Pros:

  • EMO magnetic mounting system is clever and convenient.
  • Legs and frame feel solid.
  • Cable management tray works well.

Cons:

  • Too much wobble when at full height.
  • Instruction manual needs a proof read and polish.
  • Magnetic silicone cable straps do not have strong enough magnets for any substantial amount of cables.
  • Expensive when at full RRP when considering the MDF desktop.
  • Screws are low quality and thread easily.

KitGuru says: The MagVida is a decent desk let down by too much wobble and poor quality screws. We'd only consider it when on sale.
