Atlus took a big swing last year with a brand new IP, Metaphor: ReFantazio. The game borrows some elements from the Persona and Shin Megami Tensei series, and fans were quick to shower the game with praise for its fantasy setting and characters.

While Capcom was crowned as the best publisher in 2023 thanks to its high-ranking game releases, another Japanese publisher usurped them in 2024. Metacritic has now revealed that Sega was the highest-rated publisher of 2024. 

Atlus has landed on another hit with its latest RPG, Metaphor: ReFantazio. It is already one of the highest-rated games of the year and accrued 1 million sales.
