In the past 5 years or so, Microsoft has swallowed up quite a significant chunk of the video games industry, with the two biggest examples being Zenimax Media in 2020 and of course Activision Blizzard. Despite launching weeks later, Forza Horizon 5 has already outsold Assassin’s Creed Shadows on PS5 – currently sitting at 2.2 million copies sold.

According to the former co-founder of Playground Games, Forza Horizon 5 has made more revenue than “Gran Turismo, F1, Need For Speed and The Crew put together.”

Forza Horizon 5 remains one of the few games today which publicly lists just how many players have tried the game out at any given time. Right ahead of the game’s launch on PS5, Horizon 5 was confirmed to have surpassed 45 million total players. Since the arrival of the game to PS5 mere days ago however, player counts have risen by almost 1 million.

Ahead of the official PS5 launch of Forza Horizon 5, the racing title has reached a new major milestone of over 45 million players.

With pre-orders now live, Forza Horizon 5 has shot up to the top of the charts on the PlayStation Store across multiple countries.

Ahead of the launch of Forza Horizon 5 on PS5, analysts have revealed which aspects of the racing genre are played most by PlayStation and Xbox owners.

Playground Games has now detailed the PS5 version of Forza Horizon 5, with the Pro console getting ray-tracing on track among other enhancements.

Back in August, we began to hear rumours that Microsoft was planning to bring Playground Games’ Forza Horizon 5 to PlayStation – following on from the likes of Grounded, Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves. Reports later claimed that this port had been internally delayed, but not cancelled. Finally, seemingly out of nowhere, Forza Horizon 5 has officially been announced for PS5.

While the rumoured release of Forza Horizon 5 for PS5 has yet to materialise, the game is reportedly still set to come to Sony’s console.
