Labs testers will be able to check out BF6’s Battle Royale mode starting this week, with EA confirming map details; total players; objectives and more.

You may have thought that testing for Battlefield 6 had ended with the open beta a few weeks ago, but it turns out, EA still has more rounds of playtests on the way. Those who have signed up for Battlefield Labs are being called upon once again, this time to test out new Portal features, as well as an early version of the Server Browser - a highly requested feature following the open beta.

If you have signed up to DICE's new testing platform, Battlefield Labs, then it is time to check your inbox as EA and DICE have sent out another wave of invites ahead of the next playtest. 

A few weeks ago, EA officially announced Battlefield Labs, a new testing program intended to show more transparency on plans for future Battlefield titles and allow developers to gather feedback much earlier in the development process. Thousands of fans have already signed up to participate and now, the first playtest is ready to begin. 

EA has launched a number of community playtest programs over the years, seeking feedback for projects still in development. Typically, we see these for smaller games, like Skate, while games like Battlefield are kept under wraps until the public beta tests that take place just weeks before release. This blew up in EA's face with Battlefield 2042, as the game launched with a huge number of bugs and issues. To avoid this next time around, DICE is launching Battlefield Labs.
