Ever since its first entry back in 2007, the Assassin’s Creed franchise has vastly expanded its scope with each new title – for better and for worse. With the latest piece of DLC for Assassin’s Creed Shadows available now, the team at Ubisoft have admitted that some of their previous games, in particular AC: Valhalla, became “messy” and was “a monster” of a game.

Though yet to be officially announced, the PEGI game rating board has listed Assassin’s Creed Shadows as coming to Nintendo Switch 2.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows seems to be performing exactly as Ubisoft needed it to, with the game sitting as the 2nd-best-selling title of 2025 so far (in the US).

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is a massively important game for Ubisoft, with the publisher suffering from a long string of commercial disappointments and the fear of being absorbed into competing companies. Fortunately, for now Shadows seems to be doing what was needed – with the game having already surpassed 3 million players.

Despite being an already solid upgrade, the PS5 Pro version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows will get further enhancements in a future update.
