TonidoPlug 2 Small Home Server Review

The TonidoPlug 2 is small; only an inch or so longer than a 2.5″ drive and not much wider.

At the bottom of the TonidoPlug 2 we have a RJ45 port and a USB 2.0 port allowing the connection of external storage devices.

The left-hand side of the device has a three-position switch and three indicator LED's, for power, data and wireless connection.

The top has a 2-pin power adapter socket, and this can be replaced for different countries.

Opening up the TonidoPlug 2 is just a case of sliding the top cover off. This gives access to a 2.5″ internal SATA bay. The device supports a SATA II capable interface, not SATA III.

We installed a test solid state drive; a 120 GB Kingston HyperX 3k SSD. Of course, you could fit a 1 TB 2.5″ drive for additional storage capacities.

The back of the unit is spartan. It allows for good ventilation as it is raised slightly, allowing cool air to circulate into the device.

Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition announced for all systems (including Switch 2)

Just under 10 years ago, Fallout 4 officially released to the world. While the game is far from perfect, it resonated with millions thanks to its sandbox-like design and focus on exploration among other ancillary additions (such as the settlement mechanic and base building). As they have done with many of their previous games, Bethesda has now officially announced Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition – bundling the base game alongside its DLC and hundreds of user-created mods.

  1. I have this device at home. Absolutely love it. Worth every penny. The most under appreciated device in the market.

I use it as my portable storage device and take it everywhere during my travel. It also works as a Wi-Fi hotspot.

  2. The TonidoPlug is a nice device running some really cool software. Couple of corrections: The Tonido Plug allows really full remote access to ALL your storage which could be terabytes of data unlike the limited capacity of online services like Google Drive etc.

Also, the TonidoPlug provides 2 GB of sync, not 256 MB as stated here, see https://store.tonido.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=1
