MSI Interceptor DS300 Gaming Mouse Review

Overall, I am impressed with the MSI Interceptor DS300 Gaming Mouse. This is MSI's latest gaming mouse to hit the market and it seems to tick all of the right boxes for me with an ergonomic palm grip-friendly shape that fits naturally in the hand, decent customization options and functional software.

Build quality is solid, particularly for a mouse in this price bracket and I liked the rubber grips quite a bit. Button placement on the side was spot on and the OMRON mouse switches helped to offer a more tactile feel to the left and right clickers. MSI's software was also decent enough. However, I would like to see MSI beef up its RGB lighting options in a future mouse as what you get here is very bare bones.

MSI has certainly put its best foot forward with this mouse. For a palm-grip gamer, all of the right boxes are ticked, with the ADNS-9800 sensor performing well with no issues on several different surfaces. Many will appreciate the ergonomic, palm-grip friendly design and you are given the perfect amount of additional buttons to play around with in my opinion.

The MSI Interceptor DS300 isn't readily available here in the UK just yet but we have been told that stock should be arriving in late March with a price tag of £39.99. At this price, this is an incredibly easy recommendation for us to make.

Pros:

  • Ergonomic shape.
  • Rubber grips.
  • ADNS-9800 sensor works well on multiple surfaces.
  • Up to 8,200 DPI.

Cons:

  • RGB lighting is bare bones.

KitGuru Says: MSI has ticked all of the right boxes with its new gaming mouse. Many palm-grip gamers will appreciate the shape and there is a ton of room for tweaking and customisation.
