MSI’s latest 4K monitors boast ultra-fast refresh rates

MSI has recently launched two 4K gaming monitors with high refresh rates: the MSI MAG 274UPF E2 and the MSI MPG 274URF QD. Both are very similar spec-wise, with the most obvious difference being the former doesn't have Quantum Dot technology while the latter does.

The MSI MAG 274UPF E2 has a 27-inch 4K Rapid IPS display with a refresh rate of up to 160 Hz, making it an excellent choice for gamers who want smooth and lag-free gameplay. It features two HDMI 2.1 connectors, a DisplayPort 1.4 input, and a USB Type-C port capable of delivering up to 15 W of power. This monitor also has a headphone jack and supports Adaptive-Sync technology. It includes a range of gaming features such as Smart Crosshair, Optix Scope, AI Vision, Night Vision, and Console Mode, as well as VRR, ALLM, and CEC compatibility.

The display uses 8-bit+FRC colour bit depth and Wide Colour Gamut technology, covering 133% of the sRGB, 93% of the Adobe RGB, and 98% of the DCI-P3 colour space. The Rapid IPS screen offers a 0.5 ms GTG reaction time and a 1 ms MPRT. It has a 4K resolution and supports PbP and PiP. The monitor's ergonomic stand allows up to 130 mm of height adjustment, +/-30 degrees of swivel, a bi-directional pivot, and -5 to 20 degrees of tilt. Additionally, the device has TUV Rheinland certification for its flicker-free and reduced blue light solutions.

On the other hand, the MSI MPG 274URF QD is another impressive gaming monitor with a 27-inch Rapid IPS display with a 4K resolution and a refresh rate of 160 Hz. This monitor has Quantum Dot Colour technology, which offers a broader colour space coverage of 145% sRGB. It also has an 8-bit+FRC colour bit depth, 400 nits of brightness, and VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. It also supports Adaptive-Sync technology and provides a range of gaming features such as Smart Crosshair, Optix Scope, AI Vision, Night Vision, and Console Mode, which supports VRR, ALLM, and CEC. This monitor also has a KVM switch and a Mystic Light Spectrumbar, distinguishing it from the MSI MAG 274UPF E2.

The MSI MPG 274URF QD offers various connection options via its USB hub, which has two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, a USB 2.0 Type-B connector, and a USB Type-C port with 65 W power delivery. It also has two HDMI 2.1 connections, a DisplayPort 1.4 input, and a headphone connector. This monitor offers the same ergonomic capabilities as the MSI MAG 274UPF E2, including up to 130 mm of height adjustment, +/-30 degrees of swivel, a bidirectional pivot, and -5 to 20 degrees of tilt.
