Asus ROG is expanding its presence in the display market with the announcement of a trio of new OLED gaming monitors. The lineup is spearheaded by the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W, the world's fastest OLED monitor, featuring the new Tandem OLED panel technology for improved brightness and longevity.
The star of the show is the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W. This 26.5-inch QHD (2560×1440) display shatters records with its native 540 Hz refresh rate, offering unprecedented motion clarity for competitive gaming. It also features a unique dual-mode function, allowing users to switch to an HD resolution and increase the refresh rate to a whopping 720Hz. To drive this panel, the monitor is equipped with a full 80 Gbps bandwidth DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20 port. Moreover, the monitor is factory-calibrated (Delta E<2) and VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black-certified, which, in conjunction with its 99.5% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage and a 10-bit panel, promises to offer a good HDR experience.
For those who don't need a 540Hz refresh rate, the new ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG offers a more mainstream option. It uses the same 26.5-inch QHD Tandem OLED panel but runs at a still-very-fast 280 Hz, while retaining the same display characteristics and certifications. On the other hand, the connectivity options are slightly downgraded, featuring DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC), HDMI 2.1, and a USB Hub. Lastly, the XG27AQWMG also features a new, more compact stand design that is 30% smaller than previous versions.
Rounding out the announcements is the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG Gen 2, a 240 Hz refresh of a previous WOLED model that has been updated with the new TrueBlack Glossy coating. Like the XG27AQWMG, the XG27AQDMG Gen 2 features the new compact stand design and the same connectivity options.
All of these models feature Asus's Neo Proximity Sensor in the OLED Care Pro suite, which accurately measures the user's distance from the screen and switches to a black display when the user moves away to prevent panel burn-in. When the user returns, the onscreen content is immediately restored.
