Lenovo’s new laptop concept has a screen that rotates 90º

Lenovo is no stranger to experimental laptop designs, and it looks like they have another one up their sleeve for the upcoming IFA trade show. A new leak has provided us with our first look at “Project Pivo”, a new laptop concept that features a detachable, rotatable display.

The leaked image, shared by Evan Blass (via Guru3D), shows a laptop with a display that can be lifted off its hinge and reattached vertically. A rotatable screen on a laptop is a compelling idea, offering a significantly better experience for tasks such as reading long documents, writing code, or scrolling through endless social media feeds.

This feature aligns with Lenovo's previous endeavours. The company has a history of pushing the boundaries of the laptop form factor, with recent examples including the dual-screen Yoga Book 9, the foldable ThinkPad X1 Fold, and the ThinkBook Plus, featuring a rollable, expanding display.

For now, “Project Pivo” is reportedly just a concept, with no immediate plans for a retail launch. However, it's worth remembering that the rollable ThinkBook also started life as a concept before becoming a real product a year later. Lenovo is expected to officially show off a prototype of Project Pivo at the IFA trade show in Berlin next month.
