Apple employee arrested over ‘kick backs’ for $1 million

While Apple have had a very healthy 2010 financially, it seems that lately the company are continually dealing with issues on one level or another.

The latest problem has emerged that product manager Paul Shin Devine has been possibly involved in kick backs to Asian suppliers.

Businessinsider have released information that Devine has leaked confidential corporate secrets to specific Asian suppliers in exchange for cash handouts. Information leaked in this manner to an Apple partner mean the difference between winning or losing a contract for supplying specialised goods for an upcoming product range.

The sum of money said to have been stolen by Devine is around $1 million across a period of several years, according to the San Jose Mercury news.

Emails have been found by Apple which related to the accounts regarding payments and as such he is now being prosecuted in a civil suit. He has also been arrested by US Federal Marshalls and will be trialed under a criminal case.

KitGuru says: This is another embarassment for Apple and one they will try to keep as quiet as possible.
