Turn 10 addresses fans following Forza Motorsport discontinuation rumours

A couple weeks ago when Microsoft fired over 9000 employees as part of the company’s latest round of lay-offs, one of the studios rumoured to have been affected was Turn 10 Studios. Known for their work on the Forza Motorsport series, the team have now confirmed that more post-launch content for their latest entry is still on the way – despite previous reports.

Back in early July a former Turn 10 developer claimed they were told that “Turn 10 Studios has shuttered the Forza Motorsport space and the team is no more”.

While Turn 10 is primarily responsible for the ForzaTech engine used in the highly successful Forza Horizon series, the most recent Motorsport entry from Turn 10 has not been received as well, and as such it made some sense that the studio would be impacted.

That said, the team have finally spoken out, revealing that they aren’t going away and will continue to support Motorsport, writing:

“Dear Forza Community, we know many of you have questions about what’s next for the Forza franchise, and we appreciate the support of our incredible community. We wanted to assure players that Turn 10 and Playground Games will continue to support Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 5.”

Alongside this message, the team detailed the next update coming this September…although it doesn’t give much confidence toward the game’s future; consisting mostly of returning content (the full details of which can be found HERE).

Still, it is interesting to know that Forza Motorsport appears to be alive for now. Knowing Microsoft however, things could very well change by this time next week.
