Ghost of Yotei officially goes ‘Gold’ ahead of October launch

Ghost of Yotei is Sony’s next big first-party PlayStation exclusive, with the upcoming PS5 title set to arrive on the 2nd of October. Ahead of its launch, the team at Sucker Punch Productions have announced that Ghost of Yotei has now officially gone Gold.

Making the announcement on BlueSky, the team at Sucker Punch Productions wrote: “Ghost of Yōtei has officially gone gold! We're so excited to finally have reached this milestone and can't wait for everyone to experience the beauty of Ezo on October 2nd.”

For the uninitiated, ‘Going Gold’ means that the Ghost of Yotei master disc has been submitted to its publisher (SIE). After this, discs can then be pressed with finalised software and digital storefronts can upload the 1.0 version of the game ready for release.

Ghost of Yotei Gold

It’s a process that every game in development goes through, and means that (aside from post-launch patches) Ghost of Yotei should be complete and ready to play.

The original Ghost of Tsushima launched in a highly polished state back in 2020, and so hopefully Yotei will feel equally as complete and well-rounded when it finally arrives in just over a month’s time.
