Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut goes multiplatform, Kiwami 1 & 2 heading to PS5 and Xbox Series consoles

The Tokyo Game Show has officially begun and many Japanese publishers are using the event as a platform to announce new projects. One such publisher is SEGA, who have now revealed plans to bring Yakuza 0 Director's Cut to more platforms after a brief period of Switch 2 exclusivity. On top of that, Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2 will be getting new upgrades for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Yakuza 0 Director's Cut is a new version of the game, initially released as a Switch 2 exclusive title. The game's biggest addition is an English language option, while previously, players were limited to the Japanese voice track. This version also contains nearly half an hour of additional scenes to further flesh out characters. The Director's Cut will arrive for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on December 8th.

On top of that, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 are getting new updates. These games are remakes of the original Yakuza and Yakuza 2, with re-done voice acting and all new graphics, alongside some gameplay tweaks. These titles have been available for PS4 and Xbox One since 2017, but now, they are getting upgrades for current-gen consoles. On PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, players can expect higher resolution gameplay and perhaps a higher framerate option too.

Yakuza Kiwami 1 & 2 will get their PS5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrades on December 8th, the same day that Yakuza 0 Director's Cut arrives on those platforms.

KitGuru Says: I've played some Yakuza 0 Director's Cut on the Switch 2. While I am thankful for the addition of the English dub, I really don't think it is worth re-buying if you own the original.
