Silent Hill f surpasses 1 million copies sold

Konami has been slowly reintroducing the gaming world to the Silent Hill IP over the last few years. Just last month, Silent Hill f launched as the highest-rated original entry in over two decades. Now, sales have surpassed the 1 million milestone.

With a Metacritic score of 85 and an OpenCritic rating of 87, Silent Hill f is currently the highest rated entry in the series since 2003’s Silent Hill 3 (which also managed a Metacritic score of 85). Konami also achieved high scores with the Silent Hill 2 Remake in 2024, which garnered an aggregated score of 86.

In a social media post, the Japanese Silent Hill account confirmed the sales milestone for Silent Hill f, saying: “The cumulative worldwide shipment volume* has exceeded 1 million units. Thank you to all who have played it.”

Those figures are accurate as of the 26th of September and includes both physical copies sold and digital copies sold.

Silent Hill f takes the series away from its usual setting to 1960s Japan, putting players in the shoes of Hinako Shimizu, a teenage girl grappling with trauma, bullying, and societal pressure in a rural village called Ebisugaoka. The game dives deep into themes of repression, identity, and transformation, with disturbing imagery and emotional storytelling.
