ROG Xbox Ally release date leaks ahead of Gamescom

A couple of weeks ago, a reliable leaker confirmed that the upcoming ROG Xbox Ally handheld would become available for pre-order at Gamescom later this month. Now, we have an exact release date, so those looking to pre-order know when they should receive their shiny new device.

Renowned leaker, bilbill-kun of Dealabs, has published a new report focused on the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X. The report reaffirms that pre-orders for the handheld are due to be announced at Gamescom. Additionally, the first units are now expected to arrive on October 16th.

We already expected an October release date for the ROG Xbox Ally, but an exact date had yet to be established. Official announcements around the console will happen at Gamescom, which kicks off on August 20th.

The ROG Xbox Ally is expected to start at €599 for the Ryzen Z2A model, and going up to €899 for the top-end model powered by a Ryzen Z2 Extreme APU.

The Ryzen Z2A features four Zen 2 CPU cores with eight threads and an 8-CU RDNA 2 iGPU. The Z2 Extreme bumps this up to eight Zen 5 CPU cores and a bigger RDNA 3.5 iGPU, making it ideal for running more graphically intensive titles.
