PS3 exclusive ‘Tales of Xillia’ to get multiplatform remaster

The ‘Tales Of' series has been going for decades. While Bandai Namco shipped the best game in the franchise recently with Tales of Arise and its expansion, there are still fans clamouring to revisit some of the older titles. We've already had a couple of big remasters, focusing on fan-favourites Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Vesperia. Now, we're returning to a PS3-era classic.

Recently, several online retailers in Europe have begun listing Tales of Xillia Remastered. While currently unannounced, the listings confirm that the remaster will come to Switch, Xbox and PlayStation, marking the first time that Tales of Xillia has been made available outside of the PlayStation platform.

Tales of Xillia was a late-cycle exclusive for the PlayStation 3. Since then, Bandai Namco has improved its release situation, doing away with staggered Japan, EU and US launches, and ensuring multiplatform availability. Tales of Vesperia Remastered for instance, was announced during an Xbox E3 showcase, and released across Xbox, PC, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. The most recent title in the series, Tales of Arise, was also a multiplatform release with day-one availability globally.

KitGuru Says: I didn't own a PS3 until very late in the generation, so Tales of Xillia ended up being one of the few exclusives I played, alongside Ni No Kuni. Hopefully if this remaster does come out, it will arrive with better combat mechanics, more in-line with the standards set by Tales of Arise.
