Borderlands 4 global unlock times announced – PC players get early access

Borderlands 4 is less than a week away at this point. For those eager to get in as soon as their pre-order unlocks, Gearbox has now finalised its launch-day plans, revealing global launch times for the game on all platforms. Interestingly, PC players will get in hours earlier than those on console.

Technically, the ‘launch time' for Borderlands 4 is 12:00AM on September 12th for all time zones. However, this only applies to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S users. Those on PC will get access hours earlier, starting at 5PM on September 11th in the UK for both Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Here is the full list of unlock times for Borderlands 4 on Steam and Epic Games Store:

  • Wellington, New Zealand – Sept 12 at 4:00 AM NZST
  • Sydney, Australia – Sept 12 at 2:00 AM AEST
  • Tokyo, Japan – Sept 12 at 1:00 AM JST
  • Singapore – Sept 12 at 12:00 AM SGT
  • London, UK – Sept 11 at 5:00 PM BST
  • New York, NY, USA – Sept 11 at 12:00 PM ET
  • San Francisco, CA, USA – Sept 11 at 9:00 AM PT

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game arrives a few weeks later, on October 3rd. The game will unlock at 12AM in your local time zone on that date. The only exception is US Pacific Time, where the game unlocks at 9PM the evening before, lining up with the game's 12AM launch on the East Coast. This timing also applies to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Those who pre-order any edition of Borderlands 4 will also get the Gilded Glory Pack at launch, as well as four pieces of Legendary Gear and an extra Vault Hunter Head cosmetic.
