Stardock and Oxide Games today announced Ashes of the Singularity II, the highly anticipated sequel to the groundbreaking, massive-scale RTS that redefined real-time strategy gaming a decade ago. Set to release in 2026, exactly ten years after the original, the game invites players to engage in strategic battles of unprecedented scale.
In the original Ashes of the Singularity, players experienced gameplay featuring thousands of units simultaneously across maps the size of continents. The game's story envisioned a future dominated by sophisticated AI managing drone constructs to battle post-human factions for control over the solar system. In Ashes of the Singularity II, players command the United Earth Forces, a powerful human alliance forged between NATO, China, and Russia, determined to reclaim Earth’s territories, as well as vital outposts on planets and moons across the solar system, all previously overtaken by relentless AI and formidable Post-Humans.
Ashes of the Singularity II has a significantly expanded development team and as a result, there is a whole arsenal of advanced units and more sophisticated mechanics to play around with. The game aims to offer greater strategic depth, including intricate base-building and intense skirmishes. The biggest addition though, is the human faction, which was not present in the original game and was highly requested by players. The other factions from the original game will also be returning.
Players eager to join the fight are encouraged to wishlist Ashes of the Singularity II now on its Steam page. You can also join the game's official Discord server to chat with the devs and get new updates before anyone else. Ashes of the Singularity II will release in 2026 for PC. No console version is planned.
