Arc Raiders Server Slam playtest scheduled for October

Embark Studios, the developer behind the shooter The Finals, has just made its upcoming game available to pre-order. The new multiplayer extraction shooter, Arc Raiders, is set to launch on October 30th, but those who are already eager to get it can do so now and receive a bundle in the process. For those who are still unsure, a “Server Slam” event will be open to all players to stress-test the game ahead of its launch.

For those who haven't been following along, Arc Raiders is a third-person PvPvE extraction shooter. Players will squad up in teams of three to venture into a hostile world, battling against AI-controlled “Arc” robots while also competing with other player squads for loot and objectives.

To ensure a smooth launch, the developers are hosting a Server Slam event, which will take place from October 17th to October 19th. As the name implies, the goal is to get as many players online as possible to push the servers to their limits. As such, anyone can join and test the game for themselves.

Pre-orders for the game are live now on Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation Store, and the Microsoft Store. The standard edition includes the base game alone, while the Deluxe Edition adds the “Astro Bundle” with extra cosmetics. However, those who pre-order the game will receive the “The Lucky Duck Bundle” (containing additional cosmetics) as a bonus, regardless of the edition. Arc Raiders will be launching on October 30th for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

KitGuru says: Have you already tried Arc Raiders in any of the previous test sessions? Are you planning to pre-order it? Will you be joining the upcoming playtest?
