Riot’s 2XKO fighting game set to launch in Early Access next month

2XKO is Riot Games’ highly-anticipated fighter based on its ever-popular League of Legends franchise. Following years of teasers, playtests and betas, 2XKO is finally set to launch (in Early Access) next month.

Making the announcement as part of their latest Dev update, the team at Riot Games officially confirmed that their free-to-play 2v2 fighter 2XKO will launch on the 7th of October for PC – the same day that the beta concludes.

Though an Early Access launch, it is described as being “our first full featured version of the game with a full Season of content, and a few key new features like combo trials”, alongside the complete suite of launch characters, costumes and more.

That said, the team will be using this Early Access period to test certain elements of the game, confirming that “in-season systems like the battle pass, ranked and balance tuning” may be tweaked over time.

Finally, Riot revealed that with the Early Access launch of 2XKO, players will no longer have their progress reset, meaning you can play and unlock all the available content to your heart’s desire without fear of having it all taken away.

2XKO has been a long time coming, and while it has a great deal of potential, it will be interesting to see what the general consensus is when the game officially arrives next month – especially in the wake of Marvel Tokon’s announcement.
