SteelSeries Arctis Nova Elite promises ‘audiophile-grade’ gaming for £599.99

There are some decent gaming headsets on the market but very few reach the bar required to be considered ‘audiophile-grade'. SteelSeries is looking to add one to that list with its new Arctis Nova Elite, the world's first Hi-Res wireless certified headphones for gaming.

The Arctis Nova Elite is the new flagship wireless gaming headset from SteelSeries, offering 24-Bit/96KHz transmission over 2.4GHz and Bluetooth, powered by a new GameHub and next-gen LC3+ codec. This level of clarity is achieved with custom 40mm Carbon Fiber Speaker Drivers, capable of reproducing frequencies from 10Hz to 40kHz, although you would need some very specialised equipment to measure that and know for sure.

The Arctis Nova Elite’s new GameHub has been purpose-built for a “gaming lifestyle”, allowing users to connect to multiple devices at once, including PC, PS5 and Xbox. In all, you can mix audio from up to four sources, with seamless transitions between all connected devices. Three USB-C inputs expand device compatibility even further. Additional features include the Arctis App with 200+ game-specific audio presets that can be changed on-the-fly, Active Noise Cancellation to drown out unwanted background noise, 32kHz/16-bit Auto-Switching Microphones with AI Noise Rejection that can block up to 97% of background noise, and a dock that doubles as a battery charger, so you always have a fully charged battery ready to go when the headset runs out of juice.

In terms of aesthetics, SteelSeries partnered with designer Jacob Wagner to give the headset a touch of Scandinavian minimalism. Unlike some of the previous Arctic Nova wireless headsets, which used a lot of plastic material, the Elite sports an all-metal frame and metal control wheel, so it has the premium finish to match its premium price tag.

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Elite will have a price tag to match many mid-range audiophile headphones, coming in at £599.99.
