SSD Performance

The Samsung NVMe SSD is clearly immensely quick, with much faster read performance than the most rapid SATA-connected SSDs. The MSI GS40 is noticeably speedy to load Windows and games too.

HDD Performance

The Hitachi hard disk is a decent performer for a 2.5in mobile hard disk, but nothing particularly outstanding where storage devices are concerned. Desktop 7,200rpm HDDs can now deliver at least 30 per cent more throughput.
