HTC One X Jelly Bean update tipped for October

When we first reviewed HTC's flagship Android smartphone, the One X back in June one of our main concerns was the software. This has since been fixed to a degree and now the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is tipped for an October release.

The LTE equipped One XL and the as yet unreleased One X+ with a faster clocked Tegra 3 chipset will also receive Jelly Bean either in October or upon launch. International and unlocked devices will be the first to get the update to the latest version of Android. HTC hopes to work with carriers so that these tied devices will get the update before Christmas. Some of the main features include a smoother user interface and Google Now. HTC's Sense UI will still be in full effect with its own additions, although it is unknown what modifications will be made with the move to Jelly Bean.

For now, One S owners and those with other older devices such as the Sensation are currently in the dark regarding a Android 4.1 update.

KitGuru says: Prompt software updates are one of the most important criteria in order to gain loyal customers.
