Pixels created 8 times smaller than those used in iPhone 4’s Retina display

Technology advances at a staggering rate, and researchers at the University of Michigan have created a new display with nanometer thin sheets of metal that use slits to create pixels eight times smaller than those used on the iPhone 4. These Nanoresonators could possibly be the future for high quality display output.

Researchers at the University of Michigan have created their school logo on a display only 9 microns tall, which is around the size of a full stop on the screen you are using right now.

We would assume that Apple are already investigating this Nanoresonator technology and if it meets the grade then we might even see it being used in a future revision of the iPhone.

  1. That is absolutely staggering really. what a hell of a development. I would say the human eye could tell the difference, even if it was subtle. its the same with audio. people say digital is better than vinyl, and yet its colder, less enjoyable. always subtle differences.
