According to industry rumours Apple are starting production of their first television sets in Q1 2012, with the goal of launching in Q2/Q3 of 2012.

The initial production run is said to be based around a 32 inch and a 37 inch screen and it would appear that Samsung are involved in the production and design of processors in the sets, from last month.

Sharp are apparently involved in producing the displays for the iTV which are expected to have Apple TV built into them. The same source believe that Apple will launch a revamped set top box in 2012.

You can be sure, if the screens come to market that the quality will be high, as Apple have always delivered in regards to screen quality in their laptops. Sharp have a long history of producing great LCD televisions under the AQUOS brandname.
