Apple trademarks ‘iPad Mini’ in America

Apple have filed to trademark their ‘iPad Mini' name in the U.S. Patent and Trademark office last week.

Apple said their iPad Mini is a “handheld mobile digital electronic device comprising a tablet computer, electronic book and periodical reader, digital audio and video player, camera, electronic personal organizer, personal digital assistant, electronic calendar, and mapping and global positioning system (GPS) device, and capable of providing access to the Internet and sending, receiving, and storing messages and other data.”

Apple have also filed for trademark protection in Europe and Canada. The device is a big seller for the company and while they have said it ‘sold out' initially they have recently quoted sales figures for all their tablet computers combined.

Kitguru says: Apple don't want a repeat of the ‘iPad trademark' issue in China.
