Each month, Sony offers 3 games for ‘free’ to all those with a PlayStation Plus subscription – titles which will remain in your library as long as you are subscribed to the service. For the month of September, members can look forward to a somewhat modest selection of titles, including the highly popular Stardew Valley.
Taking to the PlayStation Blog to make the announcement, Adam Michel, the director of game services and content at SIE, wrote: “Play psychic super spy, settle in with a cozy farming sim and reshape the world with a photo with the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup for September.”
Available to all PlayStation Plus subscribers from the 2nd of September, next month’s PS Plus Essential line-up features the following:
- Psychonauts 2 | PS4
- Stardew Valley | PS4
- Viewfinder | PS4, PS5
As always, this means that you have until the 2nd of September to claim August’s games, which in case you missed it, included:
- Lies of P | PS4, PS5
- DayZ | PS4
- My Hero One’s Justice 2 | PS4
Though far from the most exciting of months, Psychonauts 2 is a relatively underrated adventure platformer from Double Fine – the team behind the likes of Brutal Legend; Costume Quest; Broken Age and of course the original Psychonauts.
Stardew Valley meanwhile needs no introduction, with the indie farming sim sitting as one of the best-selling games of all time, with over 41 million copies sold since 2016.
Last but not least, Viewfinder is a cute first-person adventure puzzler in which you “Reshape a wealth of stunning environments through your instant camera’s viewfinder in order to solve a variety of mind-bending puzzles.”
