Mega Man seemingly coming to Sonic Racing Crossworlds

While the upcoming Sonic Racing Crossworlds is not set to officially launch until the 25th of September, a number of fans have managed to get their hands on the upcoming racer early. Though in and of itself nothing too uncommon, the physical edition of the game seems to have accidentally confirmed a major as-of-yet-unannounced planned DLC crossover character.

Part of Sonic Racing Crossworld’s main gimmick is its crossing over into other worlds. So far, SEGA have confirmed that the game will include the likes of Minecraft Steve; SpongeBob Square Pants; the TMNT; Avatar and Pac-Man.

That said, those who purchased a physical edition of the game received a leaflet inside the game case advertising its DLC. Among all of the collabs listed above, the insert seems to confirm that Capcom’s classic Mega Man will be making an appearance at some point post-launch.

Of course, until more players get their hands on a physical copy, this should be taken with a pinch of salt. That said, Capcom has not shied away from bringing Mega Man into various other franchises, with the Blue Bomber making appearances across dozens of different games in one form or another – including a Minecraft collab.

Regardless of whether Mega Man winds up joining the roster, it seems as though Sonic Racing Crossworlds is a hit, with early critic reviews putting the game at an 83 out of 100 – making it not only the highest rated Sonic racing game, but is also just a few points shy of Mario Kart World’s 86/100.

With the momentum that Sonic Racing Crossworlds is seeing currently – and the less-than-stellar fan response to Mario Kart World – it looks like SEGA’s Blue Blur might finally be on an even playing field with Nintendo’s mascot. It will be interesting to see what users think of the game when it officially launches next week.
