Lords of the Fallen launches on Friday the 13th of October

Lords of the Fallen was one of the first major Souls-like titles to be released. Launched back in 2014, the game received mixed reviews across the board. That said, the team at Hexworks announced last year that they have been working on a sequel. Also named ‘Lords of the Fallen’ the follow up has now received an official release date: Friday the 13th of October.

Making the announcement via a press release, the team at Hexworks “invites players to embark on an epic journey across a vast and treacherous world when the highly anticipated, dark-fantasy action-RPG, Lords of the Fallen, releases worldwide on Friday 13th October, 2023.”

The team also confirmed that this sequel serves more as a reboot for the franchise while also being a spiritual successor – seemingly hoping to learn from the mistakes made with the first 2014 title.

A new trailer was released alongside the announcement, showing off some of the world as well as giving fans a good look at the title’s improved and evolved gameplay.

While we already knew that Lords of the Fallen was set to arrive this October thanks to a leak we reported on last week, getting official confirmation – as well as a new trailer – is welcome. If what we have seen so far is accurate to the gaming experience, then Hexworks very well might have a major hit on their hands.
