You can now sign up for the Rainbow Six Siege closed alpha

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege was shown off at E3 last year but since then, we haven't really heard anything new. However, there will be a closed alpha some time soon, which you can currently sign up to take part in.

Ubisoft didn't say exactly when the closed test would launch but it is taking registrations right now. You will need a uPlay account, like with most Ubisoft PC titles. The Alpha is PC exclusive and only available to players in Europe and North America, a list of all eligible countries can be found in a FAQ, HERE.

The system requirements in order to run the alpha have also been released, you will need an Intel Core i5-2500K or an AMD FX-8120 CPU, 8GB of RAM and an Nvidia GTX 670 or AMD Radeon HD 7970/R9 280x  on the graphics card side of things.

These PC requirements are purely for the alpha and won't reflect the final product, game optimization tends to happen fairly late in the development cycle.

Rainbow Six Siege is similar to Counter Strike in its concept. The game pits terrorists with hostages against a SWAT team, it isn't clear right now if there will be more game modes but we will probably hear more about the game closer to E3 in June.
