Overwatch 2 datamine reveals hero levelling system, battle pass and more

A couple of weeks ago, new art was discovered for Overwatch 2, pointing to a new Battle Pass system, something that the original game lacked. Now, just ahead of the upcoming beta, the game files have leaked and dataminers are confirming lots of new features and content planned for the game.

Dataminer, Helba, has been sharing their findings on Twitter with some help from fellow researchers on Discord. So far, references to an in-game battle pass, a levelling system for in-game heroes and a ‘club' system have all been discovered.

Blizzard hasn't revealed any of these things specifically, but Overwatch 2's PvP mode is entering beta starting on the 26th of April. The beta will include all of the maps from Overwatch and four brand new maps exclusive to the sequel. The beta will include a new playable hero, Sojourn, a new game mode and new in-match communication tools.

Overwatch 2 does not currently have a release date, but the game is expected to launch in 2023, complete with PvP and PvE modes.
