It has been many years since Criterion moved on from the Burnout series. Since then, the franchise has been dormant, with the last entry coming in 2011 in the form of Burnout Crash. Now in 2018, it looks like Burnout might be making a comeback, with Burnout Paradise reportedly set for a HD re-release.
Several reports lately have been painting the picture that Burnout Paradise HD will be arriving in March. Last night, Gematsu spotted the Burnout Paradise HD Remaster (title tentative) listed on sale for the PS4 in Japan. Meanwhile, back in early December, Brazilian site, GamePress, reported that a Burnout Paradise HD remaster may be releasing in March 2018.
December's report indicated that the Burnout Paradise HD remaster would be arriving on the 1st of March, while yesterday's report indicated a 16th of March release date. So far, EA has not made an official announcement, but it looks like there could be one coming very soon.
KitGuru Says: I spent more time with Burnout 3 back in the day than I did Paradise. That said, I would love to see Burnout come back in some form, even if it is just a HD remaster. Did any of you guys play Burnout back in the day? Would you like to see the series brought back this year?
Burnout Paradise is my favourite racing game of all time. I spent so many hundreds of hours with it and completed 100% of events, billboards, gates and got gold on all day and night road rules, in both the bike and car version, and I got all cars and bikes.
Many racing games after it have had better graphics, more realistic physics and many other improvements, but none of them have been nearly as FUN.
Looking forward to the HD remaster. I hope they will also release a PC version that can handle 21:9!
I just hope they include the dlc this time
I would have preferred Burnout 3 as well; if they have to remaster one, make it that one.
