Friday the 13th: The Game shut down last year, but a new classic horror franchise is now taking its place in the gaming world. Halloween: The Game has been announced, coming from Gun Interactive.
Gun Interactive had published Friday the 13th: The Game in 2017, but the license expired by 2023, forcing the game to shut down by the end of 2024. Now, Gun Interactive is trying its hand at a similar type of game for the Halloween franchise.
Halloween: The Game is a new asymmetrical horror game, where one player takes on the role of Michael Myers, with the other players taking on the roles of survivor characters. The Michael Myers player will have special abilities to track down the survivors and prevent their escape. Survivors will scavenge the map for items to aid in their escape.
John Carpenter, the creator of Halloween, will be an executive producer on the game, so we can expect the game to stay true to the tone of the original movie. The game is planned to release in 2026.

KitGuru Says: Hopefully this game gets a bit of a longer shelf life compared to Friday the 13th. With the original creator being involved, we would hope that the licensing agreement is solid this time around.
