Final Fantasy 14 was at one point a PlayStation console exclusive. That finally changed last year, with the full MMO coming to Xbox. Now, it looks like Nintendo could be the next major platform for the game.
During an interview with VGC at Gamescom last week, Final Fantasy producer, Naoki Yoshida, expressed an interest in bringing Final Fantasy 14 and Final Fantasy 16 to “as many players as possible”. He added that he hoped to have “good news” for Nintendo Switch 2 owners in the future.
Square Enix has already been an early supporter of the Nintendo Switch 2 platform, bringing games like Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D, Octopath Traveler 0, Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy 7 Remake to the platform all in the first year.
Adding another platform to the support list for Final Fantasy 14 would help the MMO reach an even broader audience of players. However, we shouldn't expect any announcements in the immediate future. Square Enix already has a lot of other Switch 2 games in the pipeline for the months ahead.

KitGuru Says: My only concern would be how well the Switch 2 could handle some of the more intense content, like raids, where frame rates can take some big hits.
