Elden Ring will only get one expansion, but a sequel is likely on the way too

While From Software has released multiple DLCs for its previous games, with Elden Ring, the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is set to be the first and last. However, the team has not ruled out a full sequel yet.

It shouldn't be too surprising that Elden Ring is only getting one expansion, after all, it has been over two years since the base game first came out. However, that doesn't mean From Software is done with Elden Ring completely. From Software head, Hidetaka Miyazaki, once again touched on the idea of a sequel in a recent interview.

Speaking with the Chinese outlet, Campfire Camp (via GamesRadar), Miyazaki explained that Shadow of the Erdtree will be the last piece of content set in the Elden Ring world for now. However, while he won't confirm a sequel outright, he does hint that one is likely.

Given that Elden Ring broke several records, won a number of GOTY awards and is still widely played and praised to this day, we'd be hard pressed to see any reason why we wouldn't get an Elden Ring 2.
