Borderlands 4 has been out for over a week now and despite some performance issues, the game achieved high critic review scores and has gone on to become a top seller. Since launching ten days ago, the game has now surpassed 2.5 million copies sold.
GI.biz, a news outlet focused on the business side of the games industry, has reported that Borderlands 4 has shifted 2.5 million copies since launch. While PC players faced the most performance problems based on user reviews, the game sold 1.3 million copies via Steam alone.
While Randy Pitchford was quick to blast PC gamers online for complaining about performance, the development team was quick to smooth things over. The developers have acknowledged some of the common performance problems and a patch was already pushed out over the weekend to address game crashes.
Borderlands 4 will continue to get updates over the next few years, with a mix of free updates, patches and paid DLC.
