Crystalmark is a useful benchmark to measure theoretical performance levels of hard drives and SSD’s. We are using V3.0 x64. We use this program to test the storage options in the system.

Performance of the Samsung 840 Solid State Drive is strong, averaging over 540 MB/s read and around 260 MB/s write. The mechanical drive averages around 150 MB/s in both sequential read and write tests.

ATTO results mirror the CrystalDiskMark findings. Performance from the Samsung Drive is excellent and the mechanical hard drive is perfectly suitable for storage duties.

  1. I love that case, but im not generally a fan of mini itx motherboards as they are generally compromises.

  2. Great system, a little expensive for me. but I can see why that would sell well. not so sure on those cheap corsair power supplies however, they are meant to be bad.
