We test power consumption at the socket with a calibrated meter under the following conditions.

1: when idle
2: running Grand Theft Auto 5 at Ultra HD 4K.

The monitor is not factored into the power draw, just the demand via the system power supply.

Overclocked processors only draw more power when under load, but the combination of the other extra hardware slightly drives the idle consumption up.
