HITMAN World of Assassination update brings major overhaul to PC VR implementation

IO Interactive has slowly but surely been transforming HITMAN into the perfect stealth-assassination series, collating the recent trilogy into one neat package while adding new content; modes; features and more. Although already available on the platform, IOI has announced some major upgrades coming to the PC VR version of HITMAN World of Assassination.

Alongside the reveal that Bruce Lee is coming to HITMAN World of Assassination, the team at IOI unveiled and detailed the major overhaul which they have made to the PC VR version of the title.

Putting it more in line with the recent PlayStation VR2 release, HITMAN World of Assassination on PC now features “dual-wielding; full ambidexterity; room-scale implementation…active reloading; on-body weapon holstering; aiming through the sniper’s scope; manual interactions to take disguises” and much more.

In addition, further tweaks were made for even greater immersion, including:

  • Improved two-handed aiming
  • Weapon collision enhancements
  • 3rd-person cinematic moments
  • Various improvements to touch interactions
  • More cutscenes now run in 3D
  • Holstering improvements
  • Gameplay accessibility options

While not quite as celebrated as other well-supported titles, IOI have undoubtedly poured a ton of love and care into HITMAN World of Assassination and deserve to be recognised for it.

Considering how relatively little support VR gets in general, seeing the team continue to iterate and improve upon it for free is highly appreciated.
