We used a 1920×1080 resolution and the Tomb Raider built-in benchmark set to ‘Ultimate’ quality.

Our gaming comparisons show that Nvidia's cost-effective GTX 960 GPU puts up a good fight against the old AMD R9 280X (7970) GPU.

That said, MSI's GTX 960 Gaming beats the AMD comparison solution when it comes to heat, power, noise, and many other general usage aspects.

There's also the benefit of support for modern GPU-related technologies, such as game streaming to a Shield portable device.
