Both systems use the popular Core i7 4790K CPU clocked at 4.4GHz. Performance of the CPU in media-related workloads is strong.

As already mentioned, many gamers may be quick to point out that the Core i5 4690K is a better value CPU for pure gaming. But, as shown in the Handbrake test, the Core i7 chip demonstrates its worth when video conversion comes into the picture.

There's also the i7's benefit of extra threads (through hyper-threading) which may be useful for multi-tasking performance to game streamers.
