The specification of this CyberPower Ultra 5090 Custom Gaming PC is dominated by the MSI GeForce RTX 5090 32G Suprim SOC graphics card in terms of price, performance, power draw, thermals and aesthetics. In essence the rest of the hardware exists to support the graphics and if you don't intend to use the full grunt of the RTX 5090 in 4K gaming we have to wonder exactly what plans you might have.
We added up the cost of the parts in this PC and hit a total of £4,850 inc VAT which is heavily weighted by the huge cost of the MSI Suprim SOC and feel the price of the PC at £5,299 with warranty represents decent value for money.
The quality of the build carried out by CyberPower is absolutely fine, the end results are good and we have zero causes for complaint with their work.
Our two issues start with the enormous cost which is due to the choice of MSI RTX 5090. If you can find a Founders Edition you will save at least £500, but of course if you choose a lesser graphics card you will save even more and will have a completely different PC.
Our second concern is that right now the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU is the obvious choice for gamers, however in the next few weeks we will see the launch of Ryzen 9 9950X3D which will likely deliver the same gaming performance as the Ryzen 7 but with better all-round performance. Watch this space for reviews.
