ADATA S599 256GB SSD Review

The ADATA S599 256GB drive arrives in a simple, small white box with the company logo on the front.

Inside is a little information pamphlet, and a 3.5 inch mounting tray with two sets of screws.

The black aluminum casing is nicely understated with the name of the product on the front, as well as the capacity. It is sealed by four silver screws on the sides, one of which will invalidate the warranty, when removed.

It is worth pointing out the quality of the finish. The brushed aluminum effect looks lovely.

The drive is using the SandForce SF-1222TA3-SBH controller with 8 NAND modules spaced out around it. There are eight more NAND chips on the underside of the PCB.

  1. Good drives, I have the 128gb version of this and it maintains the speed well over time.

  2. I need to get into the SSD market, I might look at the 128gb version of this, the price looks lower than others. always a good buying incentive.

  3. I really have a hard time buying a drive like this from a company I dont really know, its a lot of money. Corsair or OCZ seem a much better option.

  4. What are their warranty terms? dont know much about them, cant even find a UK site

  5. for those who dont know, ADATA make the Corsair drives. its well known outside public circles.
