Computex 2024: Lexar launches Armor 700 external SSDs

Lexar has introduced the Armor 700 portable SSD, the latest addition to its portable SSD lineup. Designed to offer a blend of speed and durability, the Armor 700 Portable SSD targets professional photographers, videographers, content producers, and gamers.

Featuring peak read/write speeds of up to 2000MB/s via the USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface, this drive efficiently dissipates heat to maintain performance during demanding tasks. Additionally, it carries an IP66 dust and water resistance certification and is built to survive falls of up to 3 meters.

Moreover, the Armor 700 portable SSD is compatible with many devices, including PCs, Macs, tablets, iPads, Android devices, iPhone 15 Series, Xbox X|S, PS4, and PS5. For added convenience, the drive comes bundled with both USB Type-C and USB Type-A cables.

To ensure the safety of the data within the drive, the company uses its proprietary DataShield software, which uses 256-bit AES encryption. The Lexar Armor 700 is available in 2 TB and 1 TB capacities at an MSRP of $254.99 and $149.99, respectively. A 4 TB version is expected to be released in Q3 2024.
