Antec TruePower New 650W Power Supply Review

Antec packaging is always very corporate by design. Effective, stylish and with a simple picture of the product on the front.

The bundle contains the modular cables, mounting screws, power cable and user manual.

The Antec TruePower series have always been an understated design and we like them for it. No gold or pink fans with purple paint, just simple subdued colours to ensure maximum compatibility in any system build.

The rear of the chassis is completely vented to ensure maximum heat dissipation.

The top of the chassis features a 120mm PWM controlled fan.

The front has colour coded ports to ensure no confusion can occur when attaching the connectors.

The TruePower 650W supply offers an 8 pin EPS 12V connector, dual 6 and 6+2 PCI-E connectors and 9 Molex/9 Sata connectors. This level of connectivity should sate most demands.

  1. Quality product, good price too. I never pay under £100 normally for a PSU, but this is a decent price for what you get. nice to see the real world system info at the end, I never know what ill get out of it by figures.

  2. I actually use one of their older supplies in my media center at home, ive had it now for 5 years and never a single crash. I really rate these guys.

  3. A little more expensive than most, but seems worth it.

  4. I almost bought this a few months ago but went for the XFX 650W instead.

  5. Nice one, good product from Antec, although this range is all good.

  6. Terror of the deep

Almost bought their 750 W unit but went for the corsair 750 instead. good range this thought.

  7. This might be ideal for me. price isnt bad and more than enough power for my system and future upgrade in jan.

  8. I like their products, cases and PSUs are some of the best on the market.

  9. I hate to be picky, but shouldn’t the following read Antec PSU 🙂

“The XFX PSU handled the Cross loading tests without a problem and we experienced no issues.”

” We measured this AC signal amplitude to see how closely the XFX unit complied with the ATX standard.”
