Seasonic introduces new CEO Eric Lan

Sea Sonic is entering a new phase, as long-time CEO, Vincent Chang, is stepping down. He'll remain Chairman of the Board, but the CEO spot will now be filled by Eric Lan, who has previously held executive positions in Taiwan semiconductor and electronics companies.

According to the announcement, Lan brings “strong corporate and industrial management capabilities”, as well as extensive marketing experience, as well as experience in PSU research and development.

Previously Lan worked as the CEO of Leader Electronics, and acted as Vice President of Fairchild Semiconductor, also based in Taiwan.

This news follows on from Sea Sonic's ATX 3.0 power supply launch. The new Vertex series of modular PSUs offer everything you need to get started with next-gen GPUs like the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080, which use 12VHPWR instead of standard PCIe power connectors.

KitGuru Says: Good luck to Sea Sonic as it enters this next phase. We should see more PSUs from the company in the year ahead, as the industry begins to shift over to ATX 3.0.
