AMD CEO says Zen 3 is ‘looking great in the labs’ and on track to launch in 2020

While there were some rumours claiming that AMD's Zen 3 CPUs could be delayed, the company has stood firm, maintaining that its next big architecture upgrade is still on track. That was reaffirmed again this week, with AMD CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, briefly touching on the subject in a new video. 

As part of the Ryzen 3000XT CPU launch, AMD released a promotional video titled ‘Ryzen Momentum'. During this, Zen 3 is teased:

At the moment, “Zen 3 is looking great in the labs” and AMD is “on track to launch later this year”, squashing delay rumours once again. With that said, Zen 3 may well debut in EPYC server CPUs first, before heading to desktop processors in 2021. Whatever the case may be, we'll find out in the months to come.

At the moment, the only official details we know about Zen 3 is that it is codenamed ‘Milan' and is based on a more refined version of the 7nm manufacturing process.
